For the aspiring entrepreneurs and future leaders, a career in business is consistently a popular choice.

At Parkside Sixth Business and Enterprise School you’ll learn practical, work-related skills and by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. You will learn about business from experienced tutors and become fully prepared for the world of work by developing key industry skills.

The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Business is an Applied General qualification. It is for post-16 learners who want to continue their education through applied learning. It is equivalent in size to three A Levels and has been designed as a full two-year programme. Learners who wish to take this qualification will have successfully completed a Level 2 programme of learning with GCSEs or vocational qualifications. The qualification aims to provide a wide-ranging study of the sector. It is primarily designed for learners studying full time in the 16–19 age group, who wish to pursue a career in business, primarily via higher education to access graduate entry employment with businesses, or alternatively through junior business employment.

There are 7 mandatory units:

  1. Exploring Business
  2. Developing a Marketing Campaign
  3. Personal and Business Finance
  4. Managing an Event
  5. International Business
  6. Principles of Management
  7. Business Decision Making

And a choice of optional units including:

  • Digital Marketing
  • Creative Promotion
  • Pitching for a new business

Places are limited so we advise an early application.

Entry requirements: 5 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above, including English and Maths.
