Work Experience and Employer Involvement

Work Experience

Year 10 students are offered the opportunity to do a week’s work experience usually during the second to last or final week of the summer term. If you are interested in offering work experience places for any of our students, please do not hesitate to contact the career’s team.

Employer Involvement & Local Business Support

Parkside Community College is committed to ensuring that our students have experience of the world of work and would welcome any support from local businesses.

For us

We would appreciate support from local employers with the following:

  • Notification on any apprenticeship vacancies.

  • Work experience or work shadowing opportunities for our year 10 students

  • Businesses to speak in assemblies on value of STEM or STEM careers, especially for women.

  • Individuals to visit us and talk about how they use Maths, Science, Languages, Humanities, Sport, BTEC and Create subjects in their career.

  • Putting your business in front of our students through a pop-up stand in school.

  • Getting involved in our afterschool Clubs programme.

  • Getting your business involved in the Form the Future jobs and Apprenticeships fair (in conjunction with our partner schools Coleridge and Trumpington Community Colleges and CAST (Cambridge Academy for Science and Technology). Contact Form the Future at www.formthefuture.org.uk

If you have been involved in any of our career's activities or have supported students, then we would love to have your feedback so that we can continually improve our programme. Please send any comments to: mark.turner@parksidecc.org.uk
