TEACHER STRIKES

What is happening at Parkside Community College?

Members of the NEU teaching union have voted to strike in our area on the following dates:

  • Wednesday 5th July 2023
  • Friday 7th July 2023

At Parkside, some teachers will be on strike and it has been necessary to amend our programme for the Wednesday 5th July.

We had already planned teacher days on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th July where students would not attend school and would not be expected to work from home. These are continuing as planned.

Monday 3rd July - School open as normal

Tuesday 4th July - School open as normal

Wednesday 5th July

Year 7, Year 10 and Year 12 students to attend their classes in school as usual, in full school uniform.

Year 8 and Year 9 students should remain at home. Work will be set for these year groups and will be added to this page before 5th July.

After school clubs may be cancelled dependent on staff availability.

Students who have an EHCP, have a social worker, or where there is another significant reason (parent is a keyworker or there is no IT at home): a place at school can be requested. Use the link to the online form emailed to you or email Nadine.m-kahnamoi@parksidecc.org.uk

Thursday 6th - Teacher day - no students to attend

Friday 7th July - Teacher day - no students to attend

COVID-19 INFORMATION

At Parkside we do everything we can to continue with learning when dealing with cases of COVID. We have dealt with part or full closures and have continued with online learning for every lesson. We also commit to doing this where students have to stay away from school having contracted COVID or if they are in a period of quarantine.

Please see the documents below for more details on outbreak management and remote learning.
